Michael Holdmann: For the next few years, X to earn will drive adoption of Web3, it is no different that the practice of free access in the web2 world apps to give a taste of what could be and introduce more utility over time and advanced services as upgrades. Web3 will see users access and using the service without incentrive of coin, but rather in ease of daily task the function brings.
PraSaga AMA Host: Michael Holdmann, What challenges do you think Web3 companies face when it comes to balancing user engagement with scalability, and how are you addressing these?
Michael Holdmann: Thanks Michelle, Web3 projects largest challenge is adoption and utility of the underlying blockchain that is being built on.
Engagement at this time is mainly driven by incentives for participation in token promotions and not by the utility experience. This is mainly due the current blockchains focus on moving wallet addresses between smart contracts facilitating token transfers while not addressing the complex processes and multiple systems that are behind a simple payment.
For the industry to gain mass adoption and deliver a user experience that is familiar for the consumer, we need to give a familiar approach for developers to write their apps.
This is exactly what we have built for, the complexity of real world transaction behind the simple token transfer (payment).

Michael Holdmann, PraSaga is designed to tackle scalability on the blockchain. Could you share some insights on how your approach to scalability differs from other Layer 1 solutions?
Michael Holdmann: Certainly. Our Scalability is delivered by turning blockchain on its head. After looking at Smart Contract Data Model (SCDM), we realized, although they work very well to move a wallet address between smart contracts, no projects have addressed the rest of the processes that happens in the real-world, and this is due to the architecture of the SCDM.
In order to address the rest of the back-office processes, we had to create a new 3rd Data Model for Blockchain. The 1st was UTXO (bitcoin), 2nd SCDM (ethereum) and all that followed, and now our Meta-Class Object State Database Data Model (MCOSD) which advances blockchain the same way the introduction of Windowed Operating Systems (MacOS, Linux, Windows) did not computers.
The MCOSD solves the Trilemma along with composability (the ability to have reference between 10’s of thousands of assets) which moves real-world use for blockchain past just simple track and trace of an item, it delivers full auditability of anything that every happened to anything from cradle to grave.
PraSaga AMA Host: Michael Holdmann, Thank you. What role does the PraSaga community play in driving the project’s development, and what are some exciting things users can look forward to?
Michael Holdmann: The PraSaga community is the most important piece to the puzzle the success of this project. In the beginning all organic growth is spurred by the excitement created out of the community.
Also, input on what types of projects would help drive the adoption of not only current web3/crypto users, but ideas on how your family members would engage due to the everyday tasks they could complete. What could we deliver via SagaChain to bring them into the project?

Michael Holdmann: PraSaga is contributing to the vision and future of Web3 with the ethos of the Cypherpunk movement. We are a project whose goal is to solve some of the most pressing issues facing the world’s citizens in commerce around sovereignty, anonymity, identity, protection of data and regulatory compliance of today. We also are addressing the management of a global currency that allows a trust in the stability of the value of the coin, removing the oversight of the currency from centralized organizations with autonomously managed supply with oversight by the community.

Michael Holdmann: Thanks Michelle.
PraSaga does not have smart contracts. We utilize a Small Assets model. Each transaction runs to completion for us, no yielding of any kind. There isn’t any reentrancy. Objects can certainly message each other within the context of a single transaction execution. It is possible to write code that does recursion via messages between objects, but its still a single callstack and single thread of execution.
A developer could write methods that check for recursion and explicitly terminate the transaction and exit. We can’t stop developers from writing bad code, but we can reduce the opportunity by having most common code in classes that are heavily vetted and used universally. Sharding does not come in to play for us because transaction execution is always local to a single shard we do not have any form of cross-shard transaction execution context.

Michael Holdmann: This is a little more detailed of an answer.
Each shard node can be in one or more operating modes. These include shard validator, shard member (does POW), shard leader (produced blocks), account negotiation validator, account negotiation leader. All nodes are technically on layer 1.
Regarding security, the per-shard security starts with BFT signatures, then the POW miners on the shard for consensus and then braiding for longer term security.
Michael Holdmann: In terms of downtime, the model is to go with consistency for each individual shard, but overall availability with the idea that losing an individual shard does not stop other shards. There is some recovery for individual account state that may not have been gossiped from a shard if it dies.
This is a different approach from most blockchains that are either trying to go with availability by continuing to always generate blocks or consistency where the blockchain will pause indefinitely on failure to reach consensus.

Michael Holdmann: To clarify a bit further: the sagachain model consists of transaction scripts being submitted to the chain, where each script contains executable source code. A transaction can instantiate new classes, new objects and send messages to objects. The account model is such that objects are owned by accounts, and accounts are either unowned, exclusively owned by shards, or may be used by multiple shards in a read-only mode for the account and the objects it owns.
A transaction script does not necessarily need to change the state of any object in any account or it may cause state changes in objects in multiple accounts.

Can you give us more details on how the architecture of SagaChain mirrors these systems, and what benefits this brings to both end users and developers?
Michael Holdmann: Thank you for the question, SagaChain is based on an architecture that was introduced in 1972 by Xeros PARC, the product was called Small Talk and the new architecture was Message Passing (the object oriented model). It is used by all windowed operating systems and is what we implemented on SagaChain creating blockchains 3rd DataModel. In todays device world, every device has a class/object tree which develpers use continually when building their apps, it also is the wrchitecture that delivers the user expernience. By using this approach, we are brining traditional familiar process from legacy and web2 into Web3.

Michael Holdmann: Thank you, we solve a different problem than any other project to date, we solved for scaling of capacity, not TPS. We also solved for composability and the compexitity of systems and processes behind a simple payment transfer. We are here to deliver utility via simplifying your daily tasks not adding more task to your day.

Michael Holdmann: There are never guarantees of success in any industry. What we can say is that we have spent many years on designing a system that has utility for every day tasks, not just moving a token between smart contracts. We have spent many hours designing the SagaCoin management model, which, if we hit all the necessary goals in expansion of the internal SagaChain economy, we will see an appreciaton of about 237x on the purchase power of sagacoin over a 30 quarter period.
